Service menu for 70" Sony RPTV by Dr Zoidberg
Don't suppose anyone knows how to get into the service menu for a Sony KDS-70R2000? I need to reduce the amount of overscan for use with a PC. -- Alex "I laugh in the face of danger. Then I hide until it goes away" www.drzoidberg.co.uk www.ebayfaq.co.uk

LCD vs. Plasma by StainlessSteelRat
I'm sure this has been debated to death, but is there any consensus yet on which is a better technology? (In terms of sets being produced today) I'm looking at a Samsung 50" plasma which has a great price, compared to even just a few months ago, but a friend is adamant that I'm wasting my money buying plasma and should opt for a smaller and slightly more expensive LCD. -- StainlessSteelRat

Building a home recording studio by Hayak
"How do I soundproof my garage, basement, or a bedroom in my single family house or condo so my 4 piece rock band can practice and record and not bother the neighbors?" If I had a dollar for every time I was asked this question, I would be in the Bahamas right now, instead of writing this article. Many factors need to be considered prior to beginning your studio or practice room-soundproofing...

TSI-Europe - recommendation by Geoff Winkless
Hi My X1 bulb exploded on Thursday night (at about only 1500 hours, grrr) which meant a weekend with no big-TV (there aren't any local suppliers around here). I spent a bit of time searching online and found (apart from a load of places with no stock) a couple of places with the bulb, one was TSI - http://www.tsi-europe.com/productInfo.aspx?catRef=202703

HD on old Sony CRT? by Mik F
Hi folks, I've got one of them old fashioned (!) CRT tellys; a 36" Sony KV-36FS70 to be precise and I'm idly wondering whether it would be possible to hook it up to HD source ie SKY HD or an HD-DVD / Blu-Ray player and if I could would there be any point? That is, would the picture I get from this be any better than I'm currently getting from standard DVDs? I can handle the cost of upgrading a...

Buying goods from the US by Simon Heather
If you would like to take advantage of the weak dollar to buy goods in the US but have encountered problems with getting US shops to ship internationally or take UK credit cards then I can recommend using MyUS.com (http://www.myus.com/) - they will buy goods on your behalf and then ship them from their US warehouse to you cheaply and declare the value for customs at half what you have paid in...

Toshiba MT1 - Has my lamp gone kaput? by Wardie
Hello, I have a TLP MT1 LCD projector that I've had from new back in 2000. It no longer seems to project the video image but DOES still manage to project the menu. Are these different mechanisms? I assume the lamp has come to the end of it's 2000-hour life - it's done very well at about six years of occasional use. If it's relevant, the message " 1000h" was showing every time I used

LG An110SD HD Ready Projector. by Raphael Karwin-Krawczyk
Hi everyone, a week ago I got a dabs email and they have a new HD ready projector which seems pretty cool the AN110SD . Did anyone get a chance to test it? I'll be comming to London soon and for 700 quid that seems like a steal :) Regards, Raph Ps. Ahh bugger, just checked and it's discontinued, but I bet it'll be possible to get at some other retailers. So the question still stands, did...

Barco 701S - Free - South London by rep_monkey2001@hotmail.com
I have a Barcodata 701S with about 4500 hours on it. I am moving very shortly and have no space for it. It is in working order but could probably do with some attention as it hasn't been used much at all for about two years. It is free to anyone who is willing to collect it from Sydenham, South London. Panasonic 37" Plasma - Any good? by Ed
Advice please My dad wants me to sort him out a 37" TV. He's decided that 32" isnt big enough and 42" is too much. He's probably right on that given the size of his living room. I personally am a panasonic fan, so I'm playing the TH37PX60 against the newer TH37PX600 http://tinyurl.com/2b5r8j

RGB to VGA convertor by Dave Plowman (News)
Can anyone personally recommend one? It's for driving a computer monitor off a FreeView box. I need to do this rather than use a TV with VGA input. At the moment I'm using a cheap S-Video to VGA convertor which not only doesn't work well but is now giving trouble. -- *Never miss a good chance to shut up * Dave Plowman London SW To...
