I'm contemplating buying a Panasonic E55 dvd recorder which will be used for recording purposes only as I intend to use my dedicated dvd player for playback . Would buying a M/R version of the E55 be a waste of time or would I need it in order to record M/R discs that I already have or borrow ? Thanks for any advice

Help I`m looking at upgrading from my current 26" Sony 16:9 IDTV and can`t make my mind up between LCD or Plasma I have a budget of around £1500 My needs are 42" without speakers and with speakers 36" would be a good size.

Ended up going for the Sharp A3 & now I have all connected up (PC via DVI) it blows the Toshiba into matchwood for the PC aspect, but the TV picture is not as clear as the Toshiba.
