So thanks and will report back to you once I have it set up.

Got it set up and installed. Ran the automatic set up (a couple of times)
and had a listen.
At first I thought it was a little bright sounding and bass light so gave
the sub a little boost. I listen to a lot of music at relatively
low/background levels, but then discovered the dynamic eq setting and now
I'm struggling to tame the bass!
Think I will have to 'fiddle' with the eq, settings, etc for a while to get
the sound exactly to my liking at both low and high(ish) levels, but that's
what I expected.

On the video side, not a problem, although I have only tested to 720p, the
upscaling/upconverting is fine (to my eyes). My htpc works well over a 20
metre hdmi cable with a dvi converter and then another 15 metre hdmi cable
to the projector.

The remote had pre-programmed codes for my tv and dvd player, but only a
subset for the freeview dvr (old thomson), so will have to program the
missing remote signals individually.

This is the first bit of A/V kit I have had where I've been able to strip
out wires, hooray, and hopefully I'll be able to 'strip out' remotes too
once I get the remote configured correctly.

Really happy so far, now looking for a good home for my old Denon. Its still
a great amp, as long as you don't need hdmi ... think I'll give it to my
brother.
