I have set up my home cinema (LG LH-CX245) with no problems to
incorporate my tv and Sky+ - all works OK. I want to add my little
Panasonic stereo to it and have tried to connect with phono leads from
the stereo to the home cinema unit - but no sounds come out - any
ideas why? Thanks

Difficult to say anything useful without knowing more information.

What do you mean by a "little Panasonic stereo"? What connections does
it have? Which sockets are you using on it? To which sockets on the
home cinema? (Sorry, no knowledge of the model that you cite, and
can't be bothered to go hunting for info on it.)

Assuming that the "little Panasonic stereo" incorporates an amp, I'd
be looking for output sockets on it - presumably the output part of a
tape loop - and hooking them to an available input set on the home
cinema ("Aux", maybe?). I'd then need to tell the "little Panasonic
stereo" to send a signal to the appropriate output sockets (eg, by
telling it that I want to record from whatever source I'm playing),
and then tell the home cinema that I want to listen to the Aux (or
whatever) input.

But all this sounds rather complicated, unless the "little Panasonic
stereo" will play some source not otherwise available. My own home
cinema setup will quite happily play CDs via the DVD player, and the
amp has a built-in FM tuner. (I don't use it for music, though - I
have a second, wholly independent, stereo system for that. But I could
connect the tape loops on the two amps as I've described if I wanted
to.)

Does this get you anywhere?
