Don't suppose anyone knows how to get into the service menu for a Sony
KDS-70R2000? I need to reduce the amount of overscan for use with a PC. -- Alex "I laugh in the face of danger. Then I hide until it goes away" www.drzoidberg.co.uk www.ebayfaq.co.uk |

Any negative points to watch out for, apart from overscan that is ? Cheers, Keith |

Most TV/monitors have overscan control for PC use, aint there one? -- 'Lenny Henry Is Not ****ing Funny' Nige Subaru WRX (54) Land Rover Discovery II BMW GS1200 2007 |

Hi Dr.Z., It's not an answer to your post but it's a bit of a coincidence that I'm just about to buy one of these 'little' babies. Any negative points to watch out for, apart from overscan that is ? I've not had much time to play with it yet - it's a work thing rather than mine personally - but so far it's looking good. It's the best picture I've seen on an RPTV and while it doesn't have the same clarity and depth of colour as a quality CRT set it looks very nice playing hi-def video from a PC. The only problem we've got is that one of it's primary functions will be for use with a PC for things like powerpoint , and that's not good if you can't see the start button or toolbar at the bottom of the screen. It has been suggested that one possible fix is to use powerstrip to do something like 1860x1020 instead of 1920x1080. The slight loss of desktop area won't be a problem - it's just a case of seeing if the TV will accept the non-standard resolution -- Alex "I laugh in the face of danger. Tried avforums, some techno nerd might know there? I once rang Sharp tech dept & they told me how to get in, tell 'em you are doing some work on it, don't tell 'em it's yours. -- 'Lenny Henry Is Not ****ing Funny' Nige Subaru WRX (54) Land Rover Discovery II BMW GS1200 2007 |
