Also cosider a HDMi to HDMi and then a DVi adapter.

I got mine off www.ebay.co.uk
Far better prices than dealers and internet sites.

Lindy's premium cables are great quality, and their "normal" cables have
always done me fine. Their catalogue only goes up to 10m (£65) but you
could use a different cable and a converter, or they may be able to do a
custom job lot as well.

Do they work as reliably as a ready made cable?

Yep , they do seem to be good prices , but it's ordering for work so I do
ideally need somewhere we can buy on a credit card (not mine)

According to some idiot at pcworld (a customer was telling me), all you need
is a really long vga cable and then a converter on the end to make it dvi.
