my 3 year old 42" philips plasma has died

would like to use the reciever box (philips FTR 9965) that came with this
with a replacement plasma as this has numerous inputs, picture in picture
etc.

it connects via what looks like a standard monitor cable - is this likely to
work with plasma tv's with a normal pc type input.

Have a try with one in a shop, bet it wont.

i saw a plasma in the shops the other day that costs 50 grand.
it was 103 inches but even so.....

The output is VGA, so you may be able to use it with other displays.
However, the infra-red remote control reception down the cable from the
display to the receiver box won't work, and you'll have to point the remote
at the receiver box directly.
