I have just bitten the bullet and ordered an 806. Since this is a major purchase for me, I just
wanted to know as much as possible about it. I have mainly analogue sources currently (hence the
query about upscaling) and will slowly upgrade to hdmi. This seems to be the perfect solution for
me in my 1 wire and HD quest.

Mine arrived yesterday. Very impressive piece of kit. I have found the following places of help:-

and this second one has an FAQ for the 705. I know that its a different model but a lot of the
functiones etc are the same so may be of use

So thanks and will report back to you once I have it set up.

The 806 is my first amp, so i'm new to all of this. Luckily i've managed to get hold of a quick
setup guide, so that should get me up and running quickly. I will then have to figure out all the
other settings connections etc.

The setup is made very simple by the use of the supplied microphone to get the
speaker levels correct. Other than that there is little to do once you have
sorted out the inputs. In use it's just a question of selecting the input &
enjoying the audio/video. The dozens of different sound effects (Concert Hall
etc) soon lose their novelty value.
