I have just bought an Onkyo TX-SR606 at 459 Euros delivered. Excellent value. I
am very impressed with the overall quality & usability. The multiple coaxial &
optical digital audio inputs that are assignable to different HDMI inputs are
just what I needed to dispense with the separate HDMI switch I was using. The
automatic speaker setup with the supplied microphone is very useful. In the
manual it specifically states that input via HDMI from a PC is not supported
but it works perfectly well from my HTPC thank goodness as that is 80% of the
use for me.
Thanks to the poster who brought this excellent value AV receiver to my
attention.
The Onkyo TX-SR606 made the whole system sound so good that I just had to buy a
cheapish sub-woofer. For just 314 Euros a JBL ES-150P in a rather fetching
cherry wood now also graces the living room providing excellent value low-end
oomph. This was much appreciated while we were watching 'Close Encounters Of
The Third Kind' on C4 HD at the weekend.
