Got to agree with you mike, its a shame though

Isn't this also due to the fact that it is a lot easier to do home
cinema today than it way a couple of years ago. You had to choose DVD
player, receiver, speakers etc all very expensive and advice was very
often need before parting with you cash.

But today you can even go into Curry's and for £200 get quite a decent
5.1 DVD system all in one box.


True, the basic, high street, home cinema set-up is now very affordable
and, please don't hate me, probably perfectly adequate for most peoples
requirements.

I think the market for high end installs still exists and obviously
these are infanatly configurable.

What I think has disappeared are the enthusiastic people that enjoyed
discussion without necessarily needing a problem to solve.

Unless of course they are just hiding, awaiting their time to rise again
sort of AV second coming
