Dirty heads?
A cleaning tape might do it.
The book says the machine cleans heads each time a tape is inserted
and no cleaning of heads is required. I did wonder about this -
perhaps I'll buy a head cleaning tape and see what happens.
Most internal VHS head cleaners are little more than a foam roller that
gets pushed onto the head for a second or so when a tape is inserted.
They are most effective at ensuring all the heads are your machine are
equally dirty as there's no way (unlike a head cleaning tape) they can
actually take the dirt out of the machine. The foam has also been known
to disintegrate and cause more damage than it ever cured!
