At work we have a PC connected to a Sony KDL-40W2000 TV.
The PC has a DVI output which is connected to a HDMI input on the TV via a
suitable cable.

If you turn the screen on , select the HDMI input and then boot up the PC
then we get a picture.
If you then turn the TV off to standby or off entirely , then turn it back
on we get nothing. You see the av-5 graphic on the screen and that's it.

We need to reboot the PC before the TV will display the picture again which
is a major pain.

Any suggestions?

This happens with both PCs we have tried , and also using Vista or XP.
It seems that the TV is after a "switch on" signal before it will display
anything.
