I have purchased a Pioneer PDP507XD plasma, a Pioneer VSX-1016V AV amp and a
DV-696AV-S DVD player.
I am planning to connect this all up by using HDMI cables. DVD - Amp -
Plasma.
My main concern is the cost of HDMI cables.
I keep hearing people mentioning how good Monster cables are but they're not
exactly on the cheap side.
A 2m HDMI cable will cost me about £70, I need two of these. A monster
SCART cable is about £50.
I also need a phono cable to connect the Sky box to the amp for audio only.
Is a Monster cable going to give me that much extra quality compared to a
cable costing £30 or £40?
If so, are there any other cable manufactures that I should be considering?
a HDMI cable carries digital info - a big stream of 1s and 0s.
therefore the signal is either going to get through, or it wont - simple as
that.
paying an inflated price for a monster HDMI cable will gain you nothing -
unless they are no building a mini pc into the cable which reprograms the
signal....
buy a bog standard HDMI lead instead.
